MP CM lays foundation stone for missile manufacturing facility

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav asserted on Sunday that India is no longer dependent on other countries for its security and is now demonstrating its strength before the world through indigenously manufactured advanced defence equipment.

Dr Yadav said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s defence sector has become significantly stronger, enhancing both the country’s internal and external security.

The Chief Minister, along with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and the Adani Group’s Jeet Adani, laid the foundation stone for the state-of-the-art Adani Defence & Aerospace manufacturing plant at Pali in Shivpuri district. The project entails an investment of approximately ₹2,500 crore.

The CM said under the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, India has transformed from a defence importer into a defence exporter within just a few years. The private sector is playing an increasingly important role in achieving the goal of an Atmanirbhar Bharat, making India self-reliant in the defence sector.

He further said that the advanced defence manufacturing facility being established by Adani Defence & Aerospace will cater to the country’s strategic requirements while accelerating indigenous technology, innovation, and manufacturing capabilities in the defence sector.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav said that the plant will manufacture ammunition and indigenous missiles, further strengthening the nation’s security. It is expected to generate 4,000 to 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth and other job seekers. The project will also provide a major boost to local small-scale defence manufacturing units and help develop a robust supply chain, thereby injecting fresh momentum into the regional economy.

Equipped with cutting-edge facilities, he said, the plant will become South Asia’s largest private-sector missile manufacturing facility and ecosystem, significantly enhancing India’s defence manufacturing capabilities while providing a strong foundation for the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. The state government has created a favourable ecosystem for industry, infrastructure and investment, enabling global-scale manufacturing units to establish operations in Madhya Pradesh.

He expressed confidence that the defence manufacturing facility in Shivpuri would usher in a new era of regional development while making India more self-reliant and capable in the defence sector.

Jeet Adani of the Adani Group said that Madhya Pradesh is set to achieve a historic milestone in defence self-reliance with the establishment of South Asia’s largest missile ecosystem. He said the state-of-the-art facility would manufacture everything from raw materials to fully assembled missiles within a single integrated campus.
